Dayflower: Days Until & Since (“Dayflower”) counts the days until and since the dates you add, on your phone and in its widgets. It is developed by Anees Studio (“we”). This page explains what the app keeps, where anything goes, and how to remove it.
The short version
- Dayflower has no account, no ads, no usage analytics and no tracking.
- Your dates stay on your phone, and in your phone’s own backup if you use one. We have no server that receives them.
- The only service Dayflower talks to is the one that handles Dayflower Pro: it checks your purchase with Apple or Google through RevenueCat.
What stays on your phone
Every count, reminder and holiday date is worked out on the phone. Dayflower stores these on your device only:
- your dates: each one’s name, date and optional time, whether it repeats, its color and emoji, whether it counts up or down, your notes, its reminders, and when it was added and last changed;
- the last ten versions of your dates, one kept before every change, so you can bring back something you deleted (Settings → Recent copies);
- a copy of your dates for Dayflower’s own widgets, in a space only Dayflower and its widgets can read, so a widget can show the right number at midnight without opening the app;
- your settings: theme, the time new reminders start at and the date your widgets show (the app icon you pick is kept by iOS itself);
- whether Dayflower Pro is unlocked, so it stays unlocked when you are offline;
- a few counts that decide when Dayflower may ask you to rate it: the day you first opened it, how many dates you have saved, on how many days you used it, and when it last asked.
We never receive any of the above, and deleting the app deletes it from your phone.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled on your phone by its own notification system, and appear only if you allow notifications. Dayflower asks the first time you add a reminder. Nothing about them leaves your phone. On Android, Dayflower also asks to start after the phone restarts, only so your reminders are scheduled again.
Export and restore
“Export a copy” in Settings makes a file of your dates and hands it to your phone’s share sheet; it goes only where you choose to send or save it. “Restore from a file” reads only the file you pick, and adds its dates to the ones already on your phone.
Your phone’s own backups
If your phone’s backup is turned on (iCloud Backup on iPhone, or Google’s backup on Android), Apple or Google may include your dates and settings in that backup, under their own terms. That is why your dates can come back when you restore a backup or set up a new phone. We never see or receive your backups. You can turn backups off, or delete them, in your phone’s settings.
Purchases
Dayflower Pro is a one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your card details.
To check the purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase service. It asks RevenueCat when the app opens (so Pro stays unlocked, and is removed if a purchase is refunded), when you open Settings or the Dayflower Pro page (for the price), and when you buy or restore. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID that the app creates on your device, your purchase records from the store, and basic technical details such as the app version, the operating system version, your store country and the IP address the request comes from. It does not receive your name or email, and nothing about your dates. We use this to unlock Dayflower Pro on your devices. RevenueCat also shows us purchase totals, such as how many people bought Dayflower Pro, but not who they are.
Ratings
Now and then Dayflower may show the store’s own rating window, or open the store page when you tap “Rate Dayflower”. Anything you write there goes to Apple or Google under their terms, not to us.
If you write to us
“Send feedback” in Settings opens your own email app with a message to us. It ends with the app version and your phone’s system version, which you can see and remove before sending. Nothing is sent unless you send it. We use what you write, and your email address, only to read and answer your message.
Who else is involved
- Apple: App Store purchases, ratings, notifications on iPhone and iCloud Backup.
- Google: Google Play purchases, ratings, notifications on Android and Google’s backup.
- RevenueCat: checking and restoring purchases, as described above.
We don’t sell or share anything with anyone else, and Dayflower contains no advertising code and no usage analytics.
Permissions
- Notifications: only for the reminders you add.
- Run at startup (Android only): to schedule your reminders again after the phone restarts.
- Internet: only for checking, buying and restoring Dayflower Pro, and for opening this page, the terms and the store page in your browser. Dayflower counts fully offline. Feedback goes through your own email app.
Dayflower does not ask for your location, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera or photos, and does not ask to track you.
This website
These pages use no cookies, scripts or web fonts. Like any web server, ours keeps a short-lived log of requests (IP address, page and time) for security; it is not used for anything else.
Removing your data
Deleting Dayflower removes everything it stored on your phone, its widgets’ copy included. You can also delete any date in the app at any time. A copy may stay in your phone’s own backup until you delete that backup or it is replaced, and in any export file you saved. To have RevenueCat’s anonymous purchase record removed, email us; your purchase itself stays with Apple or Google, so you can still restore it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing the address below. As everything stays on your phone (and in your phone’s own backup, if you use one), there is usually nothing on our side beyond RevenueCat’s anonymous record. We answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Dayflower is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live) and collects no personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email aneesrnmba@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what is collected or how it is used, we’ll say so in the app.
